From Wyndham Pointe to the Lake: Sometimes Real Estate Comes Full Circle
The Lake Life

In 2007, I listed a home in the Wyndham Pointe subdivision in Karns, TN.

A couple with two kiddos came along and bought it. It was the perfect home and neighborhood for them. A wonderful, active community in the heart of Karns, TN with a neighborhood pool, near schools, shopping, the library....well you get it.

At the time, it was simply a real estate transaction — a builder/seller selling, buyers buying, contracts, inspections, closing and all the pieces that go along with getting everyone to the finish line.

They made that house their home.

And they stayed.

For almost 20 years.

We spend so much time announcing the new listing, the contract and the closing that sometimes we forget those are really just little moments in a much bigger story.

A lot of life happens in between two closing tables.

Years pass. Families change. Priorities change. And eventually, the house that was the one for that particular season of life may not be the place you imagine for the next.

So, the slow search began.

There was no rush. If the right house came along, it might be time. The kiddos had grown, graduated and moved on, and they could start thinking about what they wanted the next season to look like.

And then they found it.

Leaving Wyndham Pointe

Once they found their new home, it was time to begin marketing Wyndham Pointe — the same home I had listed all those years ago.

The next season? It was the lake life. 🌊

Not simply a house with a different floor plan or a different ZIP code. They were ready for a change in lifestyle.

They found it in Spring City. And, it just so happens I had sold their son and daughter in law a home in Spring City a couple of years before so it was perfect for the family dynamic!

A beautiful lake home where life can look a little different — mornings by the water, boats coming and going, evenings outside and that feeling you get when home also feels a little like you're on vacation.

They sold the home they'd lived in for almost two decades and bought the lake house.

And I had the privilege of being there for both ends of a real estate story that began in 2007.

Homes matter.

Price matters.

Marketing, negotiating and knowing how to get a transaction closed absolutely matter.

But after all these years, I've learned that the house itself is rarely the whole story.

Real estate follows life.

The young family who needs more room. The empty nesters who suddenly don't need quite so much. The person moving across town to be closer to grandchildren. The family trading the subdivision for acreage. Someone leaving the lake. Someone else finally getting to it.

And sometimes, almost 20 years later, we get to be a part of the next move, too.

Because somewhere along the way, a client became a longtime relationship, friends — and I get to help with the next little piece of their story.

To lake life in 2026. 🌊🏡

That's a pretty good full-circle moment and I am so appreciative of being able to be a part of it. Thank you Jeff and Amy. ❤️
